Not only that, they reduce cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenaline levels in our bodies. There are thousands of types of phytoncides with different beneficial properties. For instance, phytoncide alpha-pinene has been shown to enhance sleep and beta-pinene has antidepressant properties.
