Travel business leaders attending ITB in a couple weeks will not want to miss a panel titled, “Adventure Travel Leads the Way with Sustainability Practices that Benefit Climate and Communities,” taking place on Wednesday, 6 March 2024. In this session, representatives from Tomorrow’s Air partners, Kimkim and CAS Trips, will join ATTA Vice President Gabriella Stowell to share how they have structured sustainability policies that include tangible benefits for communities and the climate.

Eric Chamberlain will represent Kimkim. Chamberlain is the Head of Destination Development for Kimkim, a US-based platform that creates personalized trips for independent travelers powered by a global network of local specialists. He leads Kimkim’s partnerships and growth teams and also oversees the Kimkim Climate Initiative, which has included Tomorrow’s Air since 2022. With a background spanning the nonprofit, public, and private sectors, Chamberlain is passionate about cross-sector collaboration to drive social change.

Neil Brinckerhoff will represent CAS Trips. Brinckerhoff’s career began as a historical walking tour guide of the Czech Republic in 2017, and he has been working across the tourism sector ever since. In his role at CAS Trips, he drives sustainability initiatives, supports trip operations, and develops communications strategies. CAS Trips is an educational tour operator tackling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while engaging in volunteer projects inspired by the notions of Creativity, Activity and Service. They began  including Tomorrow’s Air in their strategy in 2023.

Gabriella Stowell will round out the panel to share information about how the ATTA’s organizational sustainability strategy has evolved. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Stowell has a background in ecology and nature tourism guiding. In her various roles as a guide, researcher, and lodge manager, sustainability has always been at the forefront of her work. As Vice President for Regional Development at ATTA, she oversees six regional teams building and promoting adventure tourism education and partnership networks. Learning about ATTA’s multi-faceted sustainability strategy, which includes specific attention to sustainable events, will be interesting for ATTA members and helpful for any organization engaged in the delivery of events.
